Vehicle was towed and is currently sitting at mcclusky Chevrolet in kings auto mall, which is where the car was purchased used in Jan 2019. ![]() Check engine light was "flashing" since I was 1/4 mile or less from the house, I was able to limp the car home and called dealership. Car started shaking and smell of burning oil was present. Turned onto main highway and was unable to accelerate. Pulled off the road, shut off car, waited a few moments and restarted. Car was idling rough, was unable to accelerate, traction control light came on, check engine light came on. *attempted* to drive back home and experienced same problems as daughter. Battery / starter checked ok, alternator checked out as bad. 2 miles, where they checked the battery, starter and alternator. Dad's comments: Drove car to advanced auto parts, approx. Turned around and returned to house so dad could look at it and sister drove me to work in her car. Left for work and car was jerking, loosing power and would not accelerate. Car was working fine the previous day and had not been started / driven since. Started 2015 Chevy Trax in driveway and it started idling very rough. They told me that GM would consider under warranty allowing for MSRP charge and GM would cover 10% and I would be responsible for the remaining $7600 No recall on engine. Towed to Karl Tyler Lewiston Chevrolet, Lewiston, Id. Vehicle lost all compression car would not move forward I was on a curve going upward on an incline no shoulder, I put the car in neutral and allowed it to coast downhill till I could get to a place where it could be off road. On on my way home while traveling uphill the check engine light came on. The following day again check engine light, again code P300 misfire was told sometimes the computer retains codes. Took the vehicle back to the dealership again a code P300 misfire. the following morning on my way to work at 3:30AM the check engine light came on. The dealership said it had a code P300 misfire and replaced the coil, sparkplugs and oil change. I experienced the check engine light and stabil trak light came on engine lost compression. A heavy stab of the left pedal is necessary to initiate ABS.On 02/02/21 My 2015 Chevy Trax LTZAWD mileage 96,612 was taken to Karl Tyler Lewiston Chevrolet, Lewiston, Idaho. TEST NOTES: Achieve best acceleration by releasing the brake pedal with the engine at 2000 rpm and by using automatic upshifts. Turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 16-valve inline-4, iron block and aluminum head, port fuel injectionĦ-speed automatic with manual shifting mode Vehicle type: front-engine, 4-wheel-drive, 5-passenger, 4-door hatchback A strong leg is required to activate the ABS, but slam on the brakes with authority and the reward is a near-sports-car-grade 166-foot stop from 70 mph. We did notice that the nose dives enough to upset the Trax’s stability under hard braking. Lateral grip is lacking, but body roll is well controlled and secure. It’s never clumsy on the road, and the quick steering fosters a deft and lively feel. LOWS: Slow to accelerate, lackluster fuel economy.Īnd though it might not be quick, the 3296-pound Trax has a small-car tossability that we find endearing. HIGHS: An attractive SUV whose size is inversely proportional to its refinement. At least the little four takes its licks without much audible protest. That’s shy of the 24-mpg city figure quoted by the EPA and well short of the 31-mpg highway number. We did, and traveled 23 miles on a gallon of regular. There’s no getting around it: The Trax is slow. Equipped with four-wheel drive, our LTZ-spec Trax hit 60 mph in 9.4 seconds. Acceleration is tepid, turning downright cold with passengers and cargo aboard. As in the Encore, the Trax gets a 1.4-liter turbo four with 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque channeled through a six-speed automatic. We’d also like a bit more speed from the powertrain. ![]()
